Held every Thursday from around 3pm till 8 or 9pm, the Thursday market (also known as the Arts or ABC market) has become a regular haunt for office workers and residents in the area.

Although originally intended to be an arts and crafts market, you can find almost everything from plants to shoes in the market. One of the highlights of the market would have to be its food stalls. Many of the multicultural residents of Mont Kiara (a renowned expat enclave) run the food stalls at the market, giving an international flair to the market.

OK. Before I go ahead with this one, I would like to say that this is a list of my favorite shopping malls in KL; as in according to me. If you think other wise, feel free to leave a comment below or drop me a message anytime. I will publish a list of favorites ‘as voted by readers’ in time to come.

1. Mid Valley Mega Mall

Midvalleymall

Mid Valley mainly caters for the middle class consumer with hundreds of retail outlets and, eateries. If you are looking for something more high-end, there is always Gardens Mall, which is located just next to Mid Valley Mega Mall. The Gardens is home to a string of luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Hugo Boss, Versace and many more.

When it was built, the mall once one of the largest in South East Asia. Its size still serve to its advantage today as it is also home to a medical center, 3 hotels and 5 anchor tenants (Jaya Jusco, Carrefour, Metrojaya, Isetan and Robinsons). There are no other malls in the country that has so many big shopping names within such close proximity.
